Here's an FAQ to help you navigate your experience!

  • The Weekend is the Student Conference for all 7th-12th grade students on October 4-6. At The Weekend, students will experience impactful faith building sessions, build relationships through small groups, and engage in fun competitions geared for students to grow closer in their relationship with God. We hope your student will join us, we know they will be so glad that they did!

  • The Weekend Conference is designed for upper middle school and high school students who are in grades 7th-12th.We welcome all students from all walks of faith and hope that students will invite their friends to join in as well!

  • Yes, in fact, we need your help! We have many different volunteer opportunities for parents from check-in, food preparation, competition team referees, first-aid, prayer team, operation team, and more. If you are interested in learning more about serving throughout this amazing weekend please reach out to amoreno@heartlandchurch.com

  • We encourage students to bring a friend with them, and they do not have to be a member of Heartland to attend this conference! Also, if your student’s friend does not have a church home please reach out to ascheske@heartlandchurch.com about our OneLife scholarship.

  • The registration cost for The Weekend covers the meals, transportation, snacks, and game supplies that students will need throughout the conference.

  • On Friday night, October 4, of The Weekend, we suggest that students eat dinner before arriving. We will have food at the late-night party but that will not begin until later. On Saturday, October 5, we suggest that students eat breakfast before arriving. We will have light snacks for them in the morning. Lunch and dinner will provided that day as well. Trust us – we are big on food so there will be more snacks and food to go around than necessary!

  • If your student is coming alone we will make sure they get connected to their small group leader who will help connect them to other students in their group who are in the same grade and gender.

  • Yes, we have a limited amount of financial aid available. If you need financial assistance, please apply by emailing ascheske@heartlandchurch.com

  • We prioritize the safety of our students. All our volunteers have undergone background checks, and we have a dedicated security team for the event.

  • When you register your child for THE WEEKEND, you'll be automatically opted into receiving communication about the conference. This will ensure you get timely updates and important information leading up to and during the event.

  • Aside from comfortable attire, students might need a Bible, a notebook, and any personal items they might require throughout the day. A detailed list will be shared post-registration.

  • While pick up and drop off every night will be the responsibility of parents, there will be specific events during the conference where we will provide bus transportation. Please refer to the event schedule for details on which portions will involve busing.

  • We have volunteers who regularly serve with Heartland Students from the church who have all been background checked that will be overseeing the entire event.

  • If your student takes medications or needs special assistance, please reach out to ascheske@heartlandchurch.com so that we can make the right accommodations for you. If your student haves an inhaler or EpiPen please make sure to send it with them.

  • Please indicate on your student’s form what your student’s dietary needs are, including (but not all encompassing): vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy free, food allergies (please indicate severity, cross contamination, airborne, etc concerns).

  • If you need anything while we are at The Weekend you may always call Alonso Moreno at (317) 842-5500.

  • We will allow students to keep their phones but will ask that they put them away during sessions and small groups. We believe that by removing the distraction of a phone it helps the students connect with God more!

  • Unfortunately, we are unable to refund any registration payments once they have been made due to all payments to the church being tax exempt.

  • Yes! Please reach out to amoreno@heartlandchurch.com for more specifics on how to give.

  • Detailed timings will be provided upon registration. However, rest assured that schedules are designed to be convenient for students and parents.

  • No, this is not an overnight camp. Students will participate in the day's activities and then head home each evening.

  • Yes, we will have a media team capturing moments from the conference. By registering for the event, you provide a photo release, allowing us to use these images for promotional purposes. The photos and videos will also be available for parents and students to view after the event.
