Helper – Paraklétos (Greek)

One who is in me, with me
Comforter, counselor (wisdom), teacher, friend, guide, advocate, intercessor, defender, helper, strength, standby, source of power

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering/brooding over the face of the chaos. Genesis 1:1–2 

Spirit – Rûah (Hebrew)
Breath; wind; air; to animate; to generate power; to give life

“As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love. — Jesus, John 15:9 NKJV

You are not what you DO
You are not what others SAY
You are not what you HAVE 

“You are my beloved son/daughter, with you I am well-pleased” 

  • The Father is love

  • The Son is the object of the Father’s love

  • The Spirit is the experience of Father’s love

 “The Holy Spirit descended upon me in a manner that seemed to go through me, body and soul…Indeed it seemed to come in waves and waves of liquid love; for I could not express it in any other way. It seemed like the very breath of God.”  — Charles Finny

 The Spirit is how you and I experience the Father’s love

When God gives the Holy Spirit, His great object is a transformed mind and heart

I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. — Jesus, John 14:18, NKJV 

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him." Jesus, John 14:23, NKJV

The Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.Jesus, John 14:18–27, NKJV

Perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18, NKJV

“I will give you a new heart and put a new Spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.” Ezekiel 36:26-27

Recognize your need for gift of the Holy Spirit

There is more of God than you are currently experiencing. 

Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened." Matthew 7:7–11

“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!” — Jesus, Luke 11:13

“..you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2:38-39 NIV 

I pray you will know the amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit. 2 Corinthians 13:14, MSG
