What do I do when Life is out of control?

I trust in the Lord for protection.

So why do you say to me“Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety! The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings.
They shoot from the shadows at those whose hearts are right. The foundations of law and order have collapsed. What can the righteous do But the Lord is in his holy Temple; the Lord still rules from heaven.
Psalm 11:1-4 NLT

We need a North Star an anchor in today’s tumultuous world.

There is only one anchor that holds!

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again — my Savior and my God! Psalm 42:11 NLT

That Anchor for me is an abiding relationship with Jesus, His Holy Spirit and His Word!

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.] John 16:33 AMP

“And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another [c]Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), to be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive [and take to its heart] because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He (the Holy Spirit) remains with you continually and will be in you. John 14:16-18 AMP

My Anchor verse that holds me steady!

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV

1. Trust in the Lord with all your heart!

Trust is asking God for His Help in everything and then applying that help to your plans. You must trust Him with all your heart, not just halfway!

What are you trusting in?

2. Lean not to your own understanding

God is willing to guide you when you lean upon Him!

If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him. But he must ask [for wisdom] in faith, without doubting [God’s willingness to help], for the one who doubts is like a billowing surge of the sea that is blown about and tossed by the wind. For such a person ought not to think or expect that he will receive anything [at all] from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable and restless in all his ways [in everything he thinks, feels, or decides]. James 1:5-8 AMP

When we walk with God many things don’t make sense!

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine." Isaiah 55:8 NLT

Are you willing to trust when you don’t understand?

3. In all your ways acknowledge him

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand
and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.
Isaiah 41:10,13

Are you letting God be involved in all of your decisions and plans?

The Promise. He will direct your paths

Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way; walk in it.”  Isaiah 30:21 NLT

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
