Tenacity

What is Tenacity?

Tenacity is the inner reserve a person draws on to stay steady and move forward under pain

Tenacity is grip strength[1]

Tenacity is persistence

Tenacity is water that splits a rock.

Tenacity is the resolve to persevere.

Tenacity is the grit to get back up again.

Tenacity is following through when I feel like running away.

Teens with tenacity experience significantly better mental health—lower rates of depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts

Teens grounded in their faith were twice as likely to demonstrate high tenacity.

74% of teens with high tenacity say they believe God has a purpose in life. Compare that with only 2% among those who are struggling to endure[2]

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of faith. For the joy set before Him, He endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and give up.  Hebrews 12:2–3

1. Jesus Endured the Cross — Pain

2. Jesus Endured the Shame — Disgrace

3. Jesus Endured the Hostility of Sinners — Hate

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. For the joy set before Him He endured the cross... Hebrews 12:2

Tenacity is NOT focusing on the drama
Tenacity is focusing on where the drama is taking you

Whatever you’re going through now is nothing compared to what God is going to do next

Our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18
