Q: How spiritually resilient am I?
Matthew 26:36-37 NKJV Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane and said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go and pray over there.” And He took with Him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and He began to be sorrowful and deeply distressed.
Jesus knew what was coming his way, so he goes to Gethsemane... a grove of Olive trees, in Hebrew “Gat Shamnei” the “place of pressing.” Place where they grew and crushed olives for oil,
Matthew 26:38-39 NKJV “My soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even to death. Stay here and watch with Me.” He went a little farther and, fell on His face, and prayed, saying, “O My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from Me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as You will.”
“God is not a figure to be studied but a Father to be known.”
Matthew 26:40-41 NKJV Then He came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “What! Could you not watch with Me one hour?
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Hebrews 4:15–16, (The Message) “We don’t have a priest who is out of touch with our reality. He’s been through weakness and testing, experienced it all—all but the sin. So let’s walk right up to him and get what he is so ready to give. Take the mercy, accept the help.”
92% of people said that they believe that prayer makes a difference in the world
91% said that they believe that prayer would strengthen their relationship with God...
The question we ask again… How spiritually resilient am I?
In the Gloo study, 64% of Gen Z say they pray throughout the week, this Gen has a deep hunger to prayer... Something’s happening, God at work in the next Gen, 100s at the 21 Days at 6am to pray and fast.
Prayer connects me to God
2 decisions I want you to Pre-decide between now and Jan…
Commit now to the 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting
Decide now what kind of fast you will do.
Fasting is the Denial of the flesh in order to gain spiritual resilience.
Pre-decide right now to go all in during the 21 DOP. To make it a priority now… The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak! Need to pre-decide… y'all smile at me...but I know what you’re thinking...
"I would have to rework my whole schedule… I work out at that time"
"What about my kids?”
"I don’t know how to pray?” What would I do for an hour.”
James 4:8 “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
Here’s the truth: Spiritual resilience doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when you’ve experienced God's power, provision, presence through prayer.
